Son of Thomas A. Hudson and Martha I. Hudson, of Queensbury. Stanley served in the Royal Artillery as a Gunner with 136 Field Regiment. Stanley died on 3rd September 1942, aged 19. He is buried in FULFORD CEMETERY, York.
The 1939 England and Wales Register records Stanley and his family living in the village, Stanley was employed as a plasterer the same occupation as his father.
Fulford cemetery, York contains 104 First World War burials and 115 from the Second World War.
The inscription on Stanley’s headstone reads: “Eternal light shine on the grave of a son we loved but could not save. R.I.P.”.
