Asa JACKSON

Jackson
QUEENSBURY (HOLY TRINITY) CHURCHYARD

Asa was a Staff Sergeant in the Royal Army Service Corps, he died at the Royal Infirmary, Stirling on 24th February 1919, aged 39, and is buried in QUEENSBURY (HOLY TRINITY) CHURCHYARD.

The CWGC records that he was the husband of Annie Elizabeth Jackson, of 27, Shann Street, Bolton Woods, Bradford.

Asa had married Annie Elizabeth Bird in 1903 at Ludlow.  In 1911 they were living at 27 Fieldhouse Street, Bradford, they had three children, Stanley, Fred and Ida aged 7, 5 and 3.

Little more is known of the family or their link to Queensbury, it is believed that Annie Elizabeth Jackson died on 29th November 1951 at St Luke’s Bradford, she had been living in Idle and her probate shows an Ida Jackson, spinster, as her beneficiary.
