Harold SCAIFE

Harold served in the 8th Battalion. Northumberland Fusiliers and died of wounds on 27th September 1918. He is buried at CHAPEL CORNER CEMETERY, SAUCHY-LESTREE (C. 9).

Born in Hull, Harold enlisted in York. He was married to Sarah, it is believed they married in early 1914 in Hull, and they had one child, a boy, born in July 1914.

It is through Sarah and the pension records that we can identify Harold who is named on a memorial in the village church, she is recorded as living at 15 Parkinson Street, Mountain and then 6 California Row, Mountain.
