Arthur WILLIAMSON

Arthur served in the 2nd/5th Bn. West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s Own) he was killed in action on 29th July 1918 and is commemorated on the SOISSONS MEMORIAL.

In May 1912 Arthur married Clara Jowett a widow with two children, Nora and John, at St Andrew’s Bradford. Arthur a 27-year-old dyers finisher is recorded living at 38 Bright Street, Bradford, Clara was living at Ripon Street, Otley. 

Arthur and Clara had a child, Elise born in September 1912. Pension records dated February 1919 show Clara and her children living at 24 Littlemoor, Clayton Heights, previous to this address they had lived at Legrams Terrace. Arthur’s effects went to his daughter Elsie.
