Harold is remembered on the family grave in Union Croft churchyard, the details include that he was killed in action on the Somme on 11th October 1916, these are incorrect as the CWGC state that he died on 7th October 1916.  To add confusion to the date of his death the UK soldiers who died in the Great War records the 10th October as his date of death and have a service number that is different, by one digit, to CWGC records.

It is known that Harold was the youngest son of William Henry and Sarah Ann Wright, of 13, Laurel Mount, Heckmondwike, that he was aged 23 and serving in the 26th Battalion. Royal Fusiliers when he lost his life on the Somme battlefields.

Having no known grave Harold is commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL (Pier and Face 8 C 9 A and 16 A).
